Has anyone else seen this?

Its like the west is stealing our moisture and redistributing it to the northeast man. Its a conspiracy dudes. This whole winter and spring our rainfall was being stolen and moved to other less deserving parts of the country. I mean its like the end man! It over paddling dudes! The apocalypse is upon us! By the time we are in retirement homes the south east will be a desert man! The Mayans knew what they were talking about. We didn't learn from the ancient Egyptians paddling shenanigans (even though the dude from the History channel thinks they were aliens). Turn your boats onto raised beds man, its all over!

It's HOT, it's DRY, but it's not the end of the world.

I know that the rains will eventually come again, just like I believe that my shoulder will someday be re-hab-ed, in like 3-6 months.

So in the mean time if you live in NW Arkansas, if you want to paddle, go where the water is - in the lakes. And if you want to enjoy it more, use a boat that is suited for it, like a sea kayak or a canoe, and if it is too hot, learn to go in the early morning hours before it gets hot.

I may not have a shoulder to make a paddle move right now, but I do have a trolling motor, a trolling motor mount, and 2 big marine rechargeable batteries, so I'm planning on being on the waters of Beaver lake eventually.

If anyone in the ACC would like to try out a sea kayak or canoe out on Beaver lake, contact me, and we can work out something. I'd love to not have dust building up on my boats.

And in case someone thinks I am not optimistic about paddleing again and looking forward to it, I bought a creek boat the Friday before my rotator cuff surgery.

Watch out for those lakes man. You can't trust water that isn't moving. They're in on the conspiracy because now they have a monopoly on the water.

The water in the lake does move, just not at speeds you are used to paddleing. It is dependent on mother nature AND the Government as it is a Corps of Engineers impoundment for both flood control and power generation. If that fits your conspiracy theory, I will not argue with you. I find that the winds are a more significant factor in general, but the currents in the lake can be strong in places at times.
