Central Chapter meeting, 7/24, 7:30 Oyster Bar
Usual time, usual suspects. Program is Byron Eubanks, kayaker and philosopher, with Ouachita Baptist University's "On the Ouachita" , including trips on the Cossatot, Caddo, and Buffalo Rivers. Lots of photos have been promised. Program at 7:30, come early to eat, drink, and beat the heat. Oyster Bar on Markham.

Is this event "well behaved/homeschooled" child friendly? Would like to make it but can't get sitter. Have a 6 & 10 year old.
Thanks for the info!

For your future reference: I'd say "yes". It is a bar, so your child might see someone with a beer or a glass of wine, but I've never seen anyone get really "toasted" or behave in any inappropriate way. I'd say language is clean more than 99% of the time, because we want it to be family friendly, too. I'm throwing in the 1% not because I remember hearing anything, but just because if I say 100% I might jinx it.erikpolta wrote:Is this event "well behaved/homeschooled" child friendly? I stopped going mostly because it was noisy and crowded. On the plus side, programs were always good and it was good to see other members.
We are all afflicted with Cognitive Dissonance. The greater our religious, social, financial or political affiliation, the greater the affliction. We hear what we want to hear. We believe what we want to believe. Truth becomes irrelevant.

I would love to go to these but it is hard for me to get out of the hospital, gather my kids and drive an hr to the meetings. Maybe one day I, too, can make it!

Richard: come on back! It might be crowded once in a while, but they are all friends. Noisy? Maybe, with paddle-centered conversations.Richard wrote:I stopped going mostly because it was noisy and crowded. On the plus side, programs were always good and it was good to see other members.
