Hometown Throwdown #2

Post by Jeremy M » Mon Jul 02, 2012 11:10 am

July 14th at Ouachita River Whitewater Park. We will start at approximately 3 PM, depending on water...

In addition to our standard rodeo, we're going to do something different. We're going to have a boat race, but the boats should be HOMEMADE! Cardboard, old kayaks,etc....the race will start above the ledge and continue to the boat ramp. Crafts should be able to carry two paddlers...if its themed even better!!!

Hope to see everyone out NEXT WEEKEND!!!!

I have a concept, buying some supplies tonight, but I'm pretty limited, assembly for the most part has to happen down thete, since any boat has to make the 4+ hour trip down to Rockport. I think my contraption if it comes together should get some laughs.

My eight year old son, Alex, and I have been working on an experimental 2-person cardboard boat and hope to have it finished in time. When I asked Alex if he thinks our boat will float, he said "Maybe". We shall see on Saturday.

Drat! My boat isn't going to be finished in time. I hope you do this again for Surf and Turf. If not, I'll bring it anyway just for giggles.
