Thanks to the information I found on this forum my family and I took our first adventure down the Buffalo last week. Here's a quick video I shot along the way. Thanks for the info! Hope to try the lower Caddo or the Ouachita as soon as I can figure out how to do the vehicle swap out thing.

Buffalo Tyler Bend to Gilbert 22 June 2012

Nice video. Beautiful river even when it barely flows.
We are all afflicted with Cognitive Dissonance. The greater our religious, social, financial or political affiliation, the greater the affliction. We hear what we want to hear. We believe what we want to believe. Truth becomes irrelevant.

Fair warning - There are many sections of the Buffalo to be paddled, and then you will want to go back at different river levels, and different times of the year, and experience gravel bar camping. The river is addictive and you will not regret being hooked into going many times with your family and friends. I predict longer and many more videos which we will all enjoy.
Thanks for sharing and look forward to paddleing with you some day.

Another warning - My tandem partner's dog, Chloe, is a shameless moocher, a begger, and a petaholic. Chloe is also addicted to paddleing, going bananas with expectation of going on every trip, year round, as soon as the gear closet is openned to load up for a trip. Chloe has a sharp bark which is easily silenced by food, petting, or a squirt from a squirt gun. Let us know if she ever bothers you. We do have a leash for Chloe and I carry treats which can keep her quiet. Mary says Chloe has me well trained. My wife Susan will be in a a kayak when she is along. Chloe is a mostly white and fairly deaf Pappion, which is her excuse for not knowing the words NO, or COME HERE. We are working on her manners, but the progress is slow.
