ouachita river

The wife and i are going to take our first float/camp trip down the ouachita tomorrow and friday. we're putting in at rockport and taking out at hwy 67 bridge. any tips or advice for this area? thanks in advance.

I posted some suggestions on your 'Lower Ouachita' post ( on the Recreational page). My advice remains the same. However that was when you were considering a Remmel to Arkadelphia float.
I do think the Rockport to Hwy 67 trip will be just the ticket for a nice two day float. I would only add that when you pass by the Grigsby Ford access ( 5 miles below Rockport) that you go on for another half a dozen miles before selecting a camping spot. The whole section is about 20 miles, so that would put you around half way or a little more for the day.
