Want to buy some kayaks
I really want to buy 3 decent touring kayaks with paddles. My kids are coming this Summer and want them to enjoy the lake. Can anyone offer some advice?

Decent boats? For lake paddling?
Skip Gander Mountain, Sports Academy, etc.
For new, or accessories, shop Ouachita Outdoor Outfitters in Central or South Arkansas. OMTC and Pack Rat are good places in NW Arkansas.
For used, start here, you're 2/3 done. http://forums.arkansascanoeclub.com/vie ... =2&t=21640" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Read what the manufacturer says about the boats, but don't stop there. Go to paddling.net and read the user reviews. Even there, you have to read between the lines - for example, I saw one reviewer who had only owned the boat 3 days, and hadn't even had it in the water yet, but wanted to get on the Internet and tell you all about a boat he had not yet even paddled.
I think if the kids are under 12, wearing a PFD is required by law. It is a good idea regardless age or legal requirements - if you could enforce that as your "one rule", you would pretty much take the chances of your kids drowning in the lake, during summer conditions, to zero %.
