12 to 1500 means "short release".
For those who don't already know the ropes, and don't want to search and read 100's of old posts, here is what this means to you:
If you want to float downriver only, launch at Remmel dam around noon and worry no more.
If you want to float downriver AND play at the ledge, have your boat at the water's edge at 1200 hrs sharp (noon), and be ready to move downriver as soon as the water starts rising. Don't loli-gag or eat a long lunch. You will not lose any "play time" at the ledge.
For those that want to play at the ledge only, have your boat at the water's edge at the Malvern Whitewater park by about 2:15 PM, ready to go. As soon as the water starts rising, jump in and start playing. It will be pretty good by ~2:45 PM. By 4:30 PM, you will notice the level is falling again. By 5 PM most will be getting off the water. The window for optimum play is wonderful, BUT REALLY SHORT!
If Scott or Lazer or someone else wants to adjust the above times by 30 minutes one way or the other, BELIEVE THEM. My tolerance for dropping levels is probably higher than theirs, 'cause I don't get down there as much as I would like to.

Oh, I agree!
My point was only, "short release = need to be there on time".
You KNOW that is still a tough one for me... (but I'm getting better)

OK, "better" is relative - I'll give you that...
I have actually arrived two places early this year (Flagstaff, and Saline River Race), and I've been less than 5 minutes to 10 minutes late 2 or 3 times in the last month...

Re: Rockport this summer?
Thanks for the review, Cowper. We have some company in and want to get them on some moving water and that's the only game in town.
Re: Rockport this summer?
Just jump on the wagon of all the Arkies heading east - some going to Ocoee and some going to Cheoah! Guaranteed long releases all weekend. Looks like if the drought continues, we will be driving east more often!
Re: Rockport this summer?
So it looks like it's running again 2-day - went monday and it took 4-eva to get there (i got there at 6:30 pm & water was not). Always fun tho!

Will it run tonight? Thursday? Perhaps? That would be very cool. If so, what time? Thanks!
