Dierks IS Running Again! Dierks is Running!

I know lots of folks will be learning or teaching and /or hanging out on the Mulberry this weekend but if this is not you, Dierks is an option for this weekend.

I missed the fact that they got hammered on Monday, and it brought the lake up almost 5 feet. They turned it on to over 1000cfs and my best guess is it could run at this level till Monday morning. But would not be surprised if they turned it down a little on Friday.

We might have a bad gauge reading. I thought it was odd that the lake came up 5' and all the rain gauges were showing less than 1" of rain. But the Lake level rose quickly but evenly over the nighttime hours so I though the rain must have been very isolated and at the top of the lake/upstream away from the rain gauges.

But as of now the downriver flow gauge is saying they have turned it off. Guessing we will see a “jiggle of the handle” and the lake level will drop.

I will see what I can find out and I will post by tomorrow afternoon .

Looking forward to it Scott, and im hurten for some DEIRKS. It's ideal for this type of wheather. and the camping is great. Rockport would work too.I havnt been in a boat in two years tho. should be fun to watch. thanks for the update.saved my a trip for nothing, done that before.

Looks like its back on again!

They turned it off and then back on yesterday and the lake level is still showing they have enough water to get them into next week.

Will keep watching and if it is on at the end of today it should run through the weekend. And I will be down there.

Just got word that the reason they turned it off yesterday was to do an inspection and that it will run all weekend.

So I plan to be there around 11-12 on Saturday. Camp out and paddle till mid afternoon on Sunday.

Plans have changed and looks like I will be heading to Dierks for a day trip. If anyone wants to share a ride from central AR hit me up.
