This is something I came up with a couple of years ago. Thought others might be interested.
Please tell me what you think and maybe a clever name for it. Not looking to go national with them...yet (if at all!) but can have take some along to WW School if there is interest.?
Here's the low down:
So many boats now a days, especially play boats, don't have a good way to lock them. Some with only nylon handles, well a thief's knife can make quick work of those. Then some (most) just have 2 screws on a handle to slow down a criminal. So...not much protection for a $1000 boat!!!
The solution? This yet to be named, simple secruity device.
Just slide it into the boat and then extend to the longest adjustable length. Place the long shank lock of your choice through the appropiate hole along with a coil cable (my preference) or chain. Now you can leave your prized possesion without worries.

Re: Checking interest "Kayak lock"
This is a good idea and works.
There was a similar type of bar gizmo that came out commercially many years ago. I purchased one and used it a few times. cannot remember why it got stored away and lost in one of the many house moves since then. I only remember that it did work.
Locking kayaks to locked on roof racks is a good thing.
A good friend of mine had his creek boat (good choice it was a Burn!) taken off his roof rack down on one of the camp grounds at the Mountain Fork camp ground and it was parked close to his and other bud's camp sites. The thieves were devious, very quiet and brazen to come into the camp ground and steal the boat that night when folks were asleep.

google found the above for me
Bottom line, locking your boat down is a good thing, might not be totally safe from the real determined crooks but maybe slowing them down or setting off the car alarm would deter most casual thieves.
