Are they really worth the money they are asking for?

They are probably worth it, but check with Felton Frame Works for options.

Yes, they are worth it in my opinion. Nice thing about NRS frames is they are highly adjustable for different users and uses.

I can't comment specifically on their frames since I've never had one, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. The prices are well within range, and NRS doesn't generally sell junk. That said, I built my own four bay breakdown for much less. It's not as bomber, but it meets my needs and was great fun to make. If you get one check with Frontier Play before you pull the trigger. Not sure how he does it, but he'll sell you anything on their website for ten percent less. Not positive this applies to frames, but I bet it does. He's a cool cat too. Helped me out a lot.

I'll endorse NRS frames, I own two, and have also had in the past a welded basket frame. The ability to totally adjust the NRS to your liking or completely disassemble it into duffel bags for long distance travel is very much worth it. I also have extra parts so I can convert from day frame to cargo bay hauler or into fishing format with high front seat, backseat and anchor rig.
Try for a used frame by watching the NRS Gearswap page, they show up occasionally and I bought my last one there at great discount. The trick with gear swap is to find a seller willing to ship to you.
