Carpool to Whitewater School at Turner Bend 5/4 - 5/6

I live in Northeast Texas (about an hour or two east of Dallas) and would like to carpool to Turner Bend if anyone is interested. I have a regular cab pickup and camping equipment and plan to leave that Friday morning. Let me know if you want to work something out.

I have two routes that I can pick from that will take the same amount of time.

1) Route through Southwestern Oklahoma traveling North on Hwy 259
- this goes though Brokwn Bow, Smithville, and on to I-40

2) Route through Southeastern Arkansas traveling North on Hwy 71/59
- this goes through DeQueen, Mena, etc.

Just thought I would post this in case someone living in one of these areas wants to carpool.

I would take 71 then turn right on HWY 23 (rest stop at this intersection) which will take you to Turner Bend. Shorter more scenic route!!

Sounds great Jim E. Was there a different route you had in mind or did the Hwy 71 and Hwy 23 sound good? Is there anyone else coming with you?
