Ponca to Kyles.... Or farther March 18th

Post by we66erno1 » Fri Mar 16, 2012 9:43 pm

I'm working the Ponca to Kyles stretch this weekend. If anyone wants to paddle that stretch on the 18th. You can meet me at the top of Kyles landing at BRC. Where the new outpost is, behind the red fence. I'll check back here tomorrow night and see if anyone posts that they want to join. Post what time is good for you. I've got the shuttle covered. I'm spending the night up here Sunday night and heading home early Monday. I can accommodate up to 10 people if anyone wants to take their time and head back Monday am.

All canoes are welcome and kayaks always. Hemmed in hollow may even be raging, if we get some rain tonight or tomorrow.

P.S. Anyone that joins on Sunday, will get to sample some nice Arkansas bourbon I brought up here with me.

Unless I wake up Sunday morning stove up from today, I am planning on coming over to paddle tomorrow. Probably get to Kyles at 9:30AM, maybe earlier. I will be solo in a Mad River Courier and driving the dark grey Pathfinder.

My cell is 479 seven two one 9onezero one if you want ot talk or move times.

Will drive back to Rogers afterwards, and can give ride over and back for up to 3 if they contact me in time.

A BIG THANK YOU to Doug Webber, and Buffalo River Floats, (and Ernie of course). I showed up this morning thinking I would go paddle with Doug, and like best laid plans, he had to work. He still managed to drop me off at Steele Creek, and then drove my Pathfinder down to Kyles, and they would not accept any payment. They couldn't even accept a beer as they were "on duty" and I offered cold soft drinks. Did manage to put something in the cooler for later, but I owe these guys. Once again, they have gone the extra mile, just being nice guys. Really hope I will get to run shuttle for them sometime and get to paddle with them too.

Thanks again - had a wonderful day, picked up a full bag of trash, and got the back end of a fiberglass canoe off of the river.
