Crooked Creek info

Post by Yellcounty » Fri Mar 09, 2012 1:06 pm

Looking for feedback on the section between the Game & Fish center (Kelly's Slab) and Hwy. 14 bridge (just south of Yellville). Specifically any problem areas. Have heard there is one close to the take out. Any details are appreciated, and in this day and age GPS coords would be great for descriptions.

I paddled Crooked Creek last June. At that time we did not encountered any problem areas on that section. But things may have changed since our trip.

There's a little "boulder" garden about a half mile above the take-out that can be hard to navigate if the water is too low. Even with water in it, one should not have any trouble as the gradient is gentle through there. Would not take much to cover up most of it and smooth it out.
