Any of you canyon veterans have an opinion on which outfitter for private trips in the canyon have the best menus and food? Doing the food ourselves is probably too much work! Thanks

REO outfitters did us well.
We had 70-80% of the equipment needed,
and they had no problem renting us just what we needed.
Food was great and well done.
Fighting for peace........
Isn't that like screaming for quiet?

I agree with Paddle Dog REO does a great job. I have used REO and PRO both. For my taste PRO does a slightly better job and has a little better equipment. Like Paddle Dog we normally have about 80% of the necessary equipment and PRO will rent you as much or as little as you need. PRO's trucks are a little nicer for the gear and people shuttle. It is my belief that PRO is a bit more expensive (not much). We are using PRO for a March trip and their people have been great to work with.

I agree with you that doing the food for one of these trips is a huge undertaking. I have been on one Canyon trip where we did the food and the permit holder nearly worked herself to death getting it done plus it took a couple of extra days on the front end of the trip to do the packing.

Thanks for the information. PRO is the company I had been considering, actually. We (my hiking club) managed to win a permit for Sept 17, 2013 in the recent lottery. The more I think about the date we won, the more stoked I get about it. That date was the most listed one on the over 3000 lottery applications. I guess others think it is good, also!
I would appreciate any other good tips you have about preparing for a great trip.
