OT: Little Rock yoga?

Post by Butch Crain » Tue Feb 28, 2012 11:21 am

A friend will be spending an extended period of time in LR with a sick relative.

She's looking for a Baptiste style, but low intensity (chair) yoga class in the area.

Any recommendations?

Thanks Minna - I'll forward that to her.

You're close enough, you should come to one of the classes in Ruston sometime - my instructors are really good folks.

I had a couple of lower back discs removed serveral years ago - I'm convinced that if I had been practicing then, I would've avoided the surgery. I'm all in now - may even go for instructor certification myself.

On advice from my physical therapist I started "gentle yoga" a couple years ago and go twice a week. I call it gentle as our teacher lets us senior citizen types use a folding chair for balance on lots of poses. I understand there are more "active" types of yoga, don't have any experience with it.

I was very skeptical at first. At this point, do not like to miss a session.

Highly recommend this to boaters. Specially those looking for a neat way to stretch out on a regular basis.
