two of us floated from the new boat ramp area on west main street in jacksonville to hwy 161 at the civil war site boat ramp today. about 4 hrs with 3 portages around downed trees and drifts of trash. we were in (and out of) a sit on top hobie with foot pedals and flippers. very interesting craft. worked fine in the 4 feet of water.
the boat ramp area has been cleared and a concrete ramp will be installed soon.
we went past the new ramp at dupree park, but did not stop.

the drifts will need lots of effort to remove all the trash. a blockage of trees had been removed, but all the trash floated down stream. jon boats and canoes are welcome.
the official jacksonville clean up day is april 21 , but work can happen any time.
