The next day we floated a little over twelve miles to Twin Rocks, which is just down river from Jerktail. Gary and the Donaldsons joined us again on Sunday, but they eventually paddled on ahead. I recall seeing many more gravel bars and taller bluffs on this reach. We camped at Twin Rocks. The night was cloudless and cold and we stared at the stars and listened to the coyotes that sounded as though they were just across the river (may have been) and marvelled at our good fortune to be where we were. The skunks left us alone that night.
We hit the water again around 11:00 Monday morning. The float was uneventful until I got a little too close to the edge of the boat while answering the call of nature and ended up taking a swim. Fortunately we were in fairly slow water and I was able reach the raft quickly. We stopped at the next gravel bar and I changed into dry clothes and laughed at myself.
We arrived at Two Rivers Park around 1:30 and were very impressed with the river access there. It's top notch.
One thing I found interesting about the Current was all the marked horse crossings. It's apparently very popular with riders. I really enjoyed the river and visiting with new friends. That definitely won't be my last Current River expedition.
