I think the interview with Nolan is the best thing about it. It's definitely a good movie, but if you think every moment of the paddling in it will be superhuman huckfests, you will be disappointed. The next one, due out in a few weeks, promises to be more focused on insane open-boat first descents.

Got it and happy to loan it if you want me to bring it the next central chapter meeting.

Nice footage, good interviews, but not something I find myself wanting to watch again (unlike Wildwater). I was turned off a little bit by the open-boater disdain for kayakers, but that is a small point. Good movie and worth watching.

Now I will have to see it and get a copy, just to see Nolan. We used to paddle with him on the Chattooga when he would come over back in the 70's. He is a nice person, good paddler, and I always enjoyed paddleing with him. Anyone would. Lusted over a few of his boats when I did not have any money, but had knees. Now I still do not have any money and have had one knee replaced, so probably will never get a Whitesell canoe.

But then I do not have any Steve Scarborough boats either, and I paddled and partied with him more than I did Nolan. Gave Steve and Brandy a woodstove for their shop, back when he had New World Paddle with Brandy Leeson. They made me several wonderful sticks, including Susan's custom wood/carbon engagement paddle. Steve's posts on facebook now are mostly political now and still the Steve of old, but Annie makes up for that and is just as sweet as she ever was with a wonderful smile.

Eli is also a very nice person and I hope he will bring his dad back again for Father's day on the Buffalo.

Has to be a good movie with such good people in it.

Someday, someone will make a movie called "Party at the Pines" which will have a walk on cast of hundreds of boaters if they do it at the annual pigroast reunion. Last one I went to was Claude Terry's retirement party and it was a good one for 3 days. We did not have blowlogs back then, but we had nearly everything else. Feeling very old tonight. Going to have to find a blowlog for the 5 Hole Gang next time I go back.

Ryan Center and others could probably do a short documentary on "How to do a blow log" that would sell. Maybe he could do it as a FUNd raiser for the ACC.

Eric
