Decent Canned Beer in the Rock?

I'm tired of drinking lame beer on float trips. I know there are top tier canned microbrews being crafted all over the country. Who in central AR is enlightened enough to sell them? Kroger has Fat Tire, which is a good start, but who/what else? Deuce is seeking inspiration. I beg you to lift from mine eyes the accursed and ubiquitous veil of mediocrity! Please, beer me! Sorry, got a little carried away, but really,

me.

Talk to your nearest liquour store and see if they would pick up the line from Oskar Blues Brewing company. Good beer and no current locations in AR.

Get some Tallgrass Brewing Co. beer. It's brewed in Manhattan, KS. They sale 4 packs of 16oz. cans at a lot of beer stores. I highly recommend the Tallgrass IPA and the Oasis, both are very fine beers and legal on the H2o!

Caldera out of Ashland Oregon is my favorite. They have an IPA, a Pale Ale, and a Amber that are all really good in my book.
Cheers, Terry DeMoe

Thanks everyone. Looks like Colonial has at least a couple of choices, and since I'm heading to the Current this weekend I should be able to pick up some Buffalo Sweat. I've also discovered a neat little operation up there called Piney River Brewing. Might have to stock up.

Can I get a Piney River Brewery IPA or Pale Ale if they have any?
Thanks,

Get a half gallon growler from Vinos or the other brewery in town and pour it into a very clean 1/2 gallon plastic vinegar jug. No cans needed.

NO TIM! Please tell me you don"t put any precious liquid in a vinegar jug. Vinegar and fermentation/brew just don't mix (take the word of a wine maker). If you are going to repackage use a Platypus bladder, you will enjoy the results mo better.

The jug has been cleaned!!!!! I"ve only done it one time, I promise. My canned beer of choice is PBR followed by Milwaukee's best.
I've got a call into a chemical engineer to make me a lexan growler, double-walled, with a tap on the top.

Sadly Avery is not available in my neck of the woods. Apparently it was until they recently decided it was just too far for delivery. I just returned from a scouting trip with a sixer of Joseph James Hop Box and two four packs of Buffalo Sweat. I'm sampling the Hop Box as we speak and it's outstanding (unless you don't like hops and/or really strong beer, in which case I don't recommend it.

) Sho do taste yummy to Deuce though.

I'll grab a couple of twelve packs of Fat Tire at Kroger and be good to go.

Just found a good canned beer worth mentioning...It's called Shift made by New Belgium. It's a pale lager and I like it a lot better than Fat Tire. It comes in pint cans and is in a blue can with gears under the name.

Colonial in Little Rock and Springhill in North Little Rock are our favorite stores for obtaining nice beer in cans and nice beer in general. Oasis and Ranger are usually available in cans at both stores. Nothing beats Modus Hoperandi from Ska Brewery in Durango for a nice IPA in a can, though. Not available locally.
