Hey LR folks: We're planning on visiting Wattensaw this weekend for a family outting and were wondering about the area. I guess the main concern is camping and the possiblility of lots of duck hunters. Any insight is appreciated! :myday"

The trail is in good shape with new signs. Primitive camping is available at the north/wattensaw access. This weekend will be the last weekend for duck hunting so there will be hunters around. Most hunters will be off the water by noon and we have never had any conflicts. Here is a link to trail info if you haven't seen it already.

DeBo,
We're putting a trip together for the first time with a group and plan on camping at the north access. What would you consider the maximum number of paddlers that would fit the primitive campsite?

The camping space is pretty large. I came down the river once and talked to a group camped there for a family reunion. There were four generations and they were camping for a week! They had about three tents and two RVs.
There is another primitive camping area if you turn right just before you get to the access. It is also fairly large and more private since it is not near the water.

Thanks, DeBo. I can see that camping capacity won't be the limiting factor on how many we could bring!
