Dutch Oven cooking

What is your favorite dutch oven meal?

Has anyone tried the frozen biscuits in a chicken pot pie recipe?

For an alternative try unrolling canned crescent rolls over the top. It will be quicker and crustier. Mmmmmmmm, crusty.:drool2:

Pilsbury pie dough would probably work. Just be sure to dial back the cooking time a bit since it's not a batter. Avoid the high heat on top and take your time to avoid scorching the top. Container instructions would likely give you good idea of overall cooking time. Rotate lid at least three times during cooking. :myday"

If they were actually frozen solid, you might end up overcooking the other ingredients while waiting for the biscuits to cook. Also, it will be like dropping ice cubes in water about to boil. The cooking time will increase but who knows how much. It's a good thought and worth a go. I say cook it!

My vote is for Pilsbury pie dough. Let it bake to a golden brown and be sure to invite me to test it :yahoo:

Pie dough will work but won't be flaky and puffy like croissants (or like Deuce after a camping weekend of DO cooking and eating). If you do use biscuits I'd vote for canned.
