Looks cold but sunny 5mph winds.
Wife and me are looking to float the weekend. Piney, Mulberry or Buffalo are all in consideration. Looking for an early Saturday launch. Overnight-er is possible. Would like some company and help with shuttle if anyone is interested.

It is kinda iffy for me but not completely out at this point. 5mph winds or less is ideal. Unfortunately, the weather man is rarely right, especially this far out. Even a day in advance can be inacurate.

Woolum-Tyler Bend.
Using Silver Hill for our shuttle. Weather is looking great lil cold at night but sunny during the day highs in the mid 50s. Put in Saturday morning 10-10:30 land at TB around noon Sunday.

Beware of the wind. Forecast is calling for 5-15mph on Saturday. Last two times I have been on the river, similar forecasts have resulted in much higher winds. I would consider getting at least as far as Peter Cave Bluff on Saturday. There are two places where the river cuts through willows. In both cases I suggest taking the first channel. One will try pushing you into a tree on river left. Be prepared. Being wet is not a good thing this time of year. You will see the sun much later than the bluffs do Sunday morning. An early sunrise is hard to do because of the long shadows cast by the hills and bluffs. Water level will be about 5 feet. That is good but not fast. You will be paddling, not drifting.
Assume you are going to get wet and have at least one back up set of clothing that will keep you warm in subfreezing temperatures to change into. Chemical hand warmers are great to have along.
The nice thing about the Buffalo these days is that a lot of it has cell phone reception. I would suggest having Silver Hill's phone number 870.439.2372 and the 24hr dispatch (MROCC) 888-692-1162 handy.
Remember, no glass. Food must be in a secure container. Drinks in koosies. Silver Hill will have a mesh trash bag that must be secured to the canoe.
Wish I was going with you. Enjoy and Leave No Trace.
