Access to Richland Creek bridge just below USFS Campsite

Is road 1205, aka Falling Water road open all the way to the bridge just downstream of the FS campground, or do ya gotta drive in from the north. Planning on hiking downstream from the bridge on the Ozark Highlands trail this weekend.

I heard a rumor that the road may be passable, but construction is still ongoing and the road has not been opened to the public yet.
I recommend you come in from the North.

As of Nov 23 the road is still closed with a hefty fine for going around the gates...from a first hand source...North for sure! It is open to the first brige you come across on Falling Water Road, but no access to the campground...
I'm thinking of coming down with a boat possibly...but if no takers I might be up for a bacpack depending on where u are going??? I'd like to hike Bobtail creek!

Thanks for the info Cowper and Perspective! I wanted to day hike down to a site on Richland (where the creek takes a hard bend to the north) where a huge rock has a crawl space underneath (at least it used to) where I found an imprint of the trunk of a Lepidodendron "tree" trunk. I crawled under there to get out of the rain and was stunned to see the fossil imprint. The rock, if I remember right (this about thirty years ago) is about the size of a volkswagen beetle, and the imprint is about four feet long. Plus, hadn't been up there for a long time and wanted to get re-acquainted with the area. Also want to check out Pedestal Rocks on the way in.
