Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

And here's my Christmas wish, that I make each year:

You know that warm fuzzy feeling so many get around this time of year? You don't mind so much dropping a $1 in a bucket to help others; you probably tip a little bit more, or maybe you're a little bit more likely to stop and help someone with a flat tire or hold open a door. Maybe you even see a cold homeless person instead of a pan-handler. You find true joy in giving; whether it is a gift, or money, or toys, or food, or just an unexpected smile.

That doesn't have to stop when you go back to work on January the 2nd. Hold on to it for as long as you can!
Trash: Get a little every time you go!

The neat thing about Cowper is that he practices what he preaches. Thanks Cowper for being a good example.
We are all afflicted with Cognitive Dissonance. The greater our religious, social, financial or political affiliation, the greater the affliction. We hear what we want to hear. We believe what we want to believe. Truth becomes irrelevant.

So true of Cowper in so many ways. Whether it's to lend a dry-top so that my son could float the Cadron OR to pull a soaked novice to dry land OR to trim a strainer (within guidelines) to prevent a nasty spill from a future floater OR to give words of comfort...he's always there. The same holds true of so many people I have floated with this year.
Merry CHRISTmas!

One of the warm fuzzies I got to have this year was going through all of our left over Christmas decorations that we have accumulated over the last 31 years and selecting ones to give to a family with 2 kids who would not have had any tree and house fixings otherwise. Susan had said we were going to thin out the boxes of what we were not using this year and then Mary mentioned the need for someone she knew. Then a "gag gift" from work yielded a few kids toys which were "perfect", and some clothes her size that were were going to be donated went in another bag, and a gift card appeared for some more stuff for the kids, and I had another excuse to cook pumpkin bread. (my recipie make 2 loaves and Sam's does not sell single cans of Whipped Cream) The lady went through the bag ornament by ornament, and some were just like she had grown up with and brought back good memories to her like they did to me, and that bag will now give her kids some of their own. Nice knowing that the things you had collected were going to be liked by someone. Definately a warm fuzzy pass it on. Mary took her shopping with the gift card, so she got to have the warm fuzzies as well.

Hope y'all get to find some warm fuzzies like we did.

Eric
