Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
I've already forgotten your name but thanks to the Guy (from Benton I'm told) that snagged my paddle out of the Falls at the Tot. Let me know who you are, I'd like to repay you some how.

Also, thanks to the guy with the Throw rope and J.Enns for standing by with another throw rope.

Additionally, thanks for chasing down my boat J.Goodwin.

I appreciate you guys helping out a fellow boater. The experience has been a real "eye opener".

Hopefully, I can return the favor some day.
Tim J.

It's great reading your thank you note from what sounds like can only be described as an interesting trip down the falls. We've all had interesting trips like that somewhere at some time in our paddling careers and I always keep a few beers around to say thanks to those who've helped retrieve my gear, boat, and butt out of the river. I pay it forward every chance I get, and that good river karma just keeps getting recycled down through the years.

Tim,

Glad the paddle made it home. Always feels great to know fellow boaters are there to help. You and Jim are always fun to boat with and it's always nice to see you guys pushing your limits a little. That rapid has humbled quite a few of us over the years.

Joe

Tot falls and notable rescues go hand in hand. I probably have been helped more than I have helped. I have had psychological help from many ready to help over the year. So thanks to all !

Tim....FYI..There is a line in eye opener more to the right.. Looked like the whole group (following Joe :) ) was a little left of the boof ,some more than others....

"Harlan why did you take them all through the hole??" D.D. :D

For the record, I thought it was common knowledge that I dont know what I am doing....

Noel Parker was the guy who found your paddle. We were exploring some interesting lines when he saw it snagged in some rocks above BMF.

I pulled a "Harlan" in Eye Opener once myself. Hollered to an inexperienced group behind me as I dropped over the horizon, "follow me!" Underwater rodeo ensued for the next 45 seconds. Started to swim, decided not to, started to again, vetoed that, and finally things settled down and I got a roll, gasping for sweet, sweet air.

Nobody else followed me.

And I always tell the tale of the nameless paddler we caught on video about 17 years ago, who had apparently taken too much safety break at the top of the falls. On the video he paddles toward Eye Opener with his eyes staring somewhere into outer space. Then slowly topples over about 20 feet above the lip of the drop. Swims most of the rest of the falls. Never knew what happened to him.

So many tales to tell from that set of rapids. Fun times.
