Wister wave at 7300, how is it?

Post by okc-horton » Sun Dec 18, 2011 5:47 pm

Has anyone paddled the Wister wave at the level it's been at for the last few days? Or does someone want to meet me out there in the next couple of days?

It is blown out at that level. You are really looking for flows of 4800-6500cfs with right around 6000 cfs being the sweet spot. With rain in the forecast Monday/Tuesday they are probably going to release full bore (7000 cfs or so) until the rain starts and then cut it back significantly. You may have a shot Monday if they bring it down slightly during the day, but I don't think you will see good flows (if they occur) till at least Wednesday/Thursday. Know that they make end of day changes to lake outflow around 2-3PM because they work from 7-4, so even if it does come in tomorrow it will probably only be until mid-afternoon with them likely bumping it down before they go home.
