Free Shuttles on Cadron! (noonish) (Sunday 12-11-11)

Post by Cowper » Sun Dec 11, 2011 10:20 am

DeBo and I are headed back up to pick up the road north of the bridge today.

We'll provide free shuttle service for a Pinnacle Springs to Hwy 65 float for anyone who can break free on such short notice to help for a few minutes. If you can't get there until 1, then we'll still help with your shuttle if you spend 10 minutes picking up litter on the West side of the Pinnacle springs bridge before you drag your boat down the hill to put in.

Anyone who brings a raft and allows us to get tires on the downriver float doesn't have to lift a finger for the free shuttle! (and you don't have to help load the tires either - just sit there looking pretty in the eddy and watch the show)

(Yes, we know we'll probably be there alone given the extremely short notice.) self :hammer2:

Mission Accomplished. Cleaned the road north of the bridge, and got quite a bit more at the Pinnacle Springs bridge too. Couldn't get it all though, because someone has been dumping their household garbage there.

It is easy to understand why some landowners feel the way they do about uninvited guests.

I'd like to encourage everyone who uses the Pinnacle Springs bridge as an access point to always take an extra 5 or 10 minutes, and pick up what you can. It doesn't have to be a major clean-up, just leave it better than you found it.

Exactly how an access to Archey fork was lost. Party spot, too. Loads of dumping and left behind cans, as well as modifications made to better their spot.. for/by the party-ers that is.

Thanks for your efforts! Way to go!
You sure this is on the right channel?

Well, I couldn't let it go. Went back today and got 10 more bags of trash and one more tire from near the Pinnacle Springs bridge. 7 of those bags were the garbage someone had dumped; the other 3 were typical roadside trash. Probably the worst thing was, apparently about 1/2 of the glass bottles thrown out of car windows have been rolling down the field and out into somebody's pasture. It was peppered with maybe 20 + bottles; not good for tractor tires, and even worse if someone has a pony or horse and wants to ride there.

I was SOOOOO hoping there would be some junk mail with an address in one of those dumped garbage bags.... I would have really enjoyed returning them to the original owner's yard...
