Rockport Saturday

Post by Mike S » Mon Oct 31, 2011 9:47 pm

Unless I read the email wrong the release is from 7-5 @ 3600 starting Saturday and continuing everyday to the 13th. Anybody still show up in this weather? Think I might..... :canoe:

Will likely have a group of 5 students from my fall OBU class. Haven't decided how early we'll try to start.

Jay and I may be along with Byron and his crew unless he wants to start early. :poke2:

Mike - some of us were thinking about meeting up around 10am to set shuttle and hopefully get launched around 11ish. You want to go downriver? I am thinking maybe it will be warmer by the time we get to the ledge. Hope to see you too, Tim & Byron!

I will probably be there too...may go downriver with everyone. :yahoo:

Byron, what students are you bringing? You know, Tanner lives right across the street from me in Benton, and his girlfriend Bridgette is at his house alot now too. They both have you for a class I believe? They were telling me about it, and asked if we knew each other. I told them we had paddled together a few times, and that I would let you know to fail them both. :poke2:

Do people paddle in this "weather"

You mean warm and sunny out :)

10:00 should work for my class. (Is that too early, Tim?)

We'll likely be slower coming down river than most, so will need to make sure we can catch a ride back late in the day.

Joe, Tanner is in my Christian Ethics class, but I don't recall a Bridgette in any of my classes this semester.

A friend of mine may be coming, his name is James and he will bring a friend maybe. Look for him in a white pickup.

I'll be there as well. I was unaware that it would be running. Thanks for letting us know.

Mike,

Yes, just get there by 10am, or a little earlier this Saturday. Regardless of the various other meeting times during the Summer for these Remmel trips, we do meet at the Ledge, AKA The Malvern Whitewater Park Ramp, then visit briefly and consolidate boats, vehicles, etc. then head on up to the put-in at the dam.

Best Regards
jim

Me, Carmen Smith and Matt Fritz will be there at 10am to help with shuttle  I think Maggie, Jason and Marianne are coming too. Byron, it should not be a problem to get you back to your vehicle or you could leave keys with us and we will go get it for you. See you all there!

I had another very nice float today! Good to see you again Carmen! Nice to meet you Matt, and Jason! It was also very nice to visit with Tim, Byron&students, I hope your float went well.
It was great to have the water running full-bore when we put-in, even the overcast sky to start with was OK, full sun by the take out and many other friends to visit with at the Ledge. Thanks to everyone!

Best Regards
Jim
