Re: Open Boat
James,
That's surely a good price. I'm certainly not the biggest canoe guy in the club myself, however those most interested will probably ask you next about how old a boat it is, model name/number, length, con-dition, color etc., and so on, and 'weather any pitchers' of it are available
Best Regards

Re: Open Boat
Odds are it's an Old Town H2Pro. I haven't ever paddled one, but I believe the hull design has been eclipsed by several generations since it's release. That said, I think $275 is pretty reasonable for anything with airbags and a hull in reasonable condition.
James, I would suggest cross-positing it on cboats.net... You will catch a few people in surrounding states that don't frequent the ACC boards.
Thanks,
Shep

Re: Open Boat
Well, I did get excited reading up about the Old Town H2Pro and its cutting edge design with an aggressive rocker for its day. And in my imagination, it was red.
Re: Open Boat
Back when the H2O was produced, the general consensus was that it had the initial and secondary stability of a greased bowling ball for the unwary paddler.

Re: Open Boat
James,
From the picture, your boat looks pretty good! From the view outside , it certainly looks worth what you are asking at the very least, no matter the model. Thanks for listing it! And for enduring us nit-picking more info. Got any shots of the inside& saddle
Best Regards

Re: Open Boat
Sorry if asking for more details was nitpicking, but I thought more info would help you sell the boat and I knew of some folks who were looking. I'll tell them to give you a shout. I does look like a very good boat for the price. Is it Royalex?

Re: Open Boat
Eric,
I started the nit-picking with six the items of interest I could think of, and you helped out with a further two I didn't think about. Like you, I think they are all valid considerations that a potential buyer might care to know. I just used the term to make light of the group of questions I posed so James wouldn't think we were trying to ambush him 'playing' a game of 56 questions just for the dickins of it.
Best Regards
Jim

Re: Open Boat
Hey the nit-picking is keeping me at the top of the board (lol) The Grumman Square Stern is also for sale , It's 17 ft. One of the old ones, I also have a small outboard (cruise n carry 2.7 hp) if interested. The Old Town is royalex. Kerry More says it's bomb proof.
