Fellow Texans on this list,
What are the chances that there still will be a flow on the Trinity River on Saturday. I have to go to Dallas that day and can bring my kayak if there is water.
ANy info on parking etc. would be appreciated.
If there is insufficient flow for the waves, is there enough of a pool for flat waer practices including rolling?
thanks in advance

Hey Max,
I am not by any means the best one to answer you on this since I have only been out there once, so hopefully David will chime in. But it looks like it is currently below a recommended level. You can look at the level using:
http://waterdata.usgs.gov/usa/nwis/uv?08057000" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think a safe bet for the features to be in (at least in some capacity) is 1000 and up. There is a slight chance of rain in the forecast for Dallas Thursday-ish so keep an eye on the gauge. The contributing area above the park is HUGE (and high in impervious cover), so a pretty small amount of rain (half an inch) could bring it up.
The pool above the top feature is pretty deep so you could certainly work on flatwater stuff there, but I wouldn't mess with between the two features or below the second feature if it is still low.
Call Ben Hoffman at (830)832-0584. You may be able to talk him into doing a flatwater paddle down to the park or up from the park. Even if he isn't able to go he can at least hook you up with directions to the best parking area.

It sounds like there has been possible sediment build-up, so you def want 1000 or higher. I was out there in mid-August around 1100-1200 and it was only barely forming up top and feature #2 was non-existent.
