Is rockport worth going to at 2500 cfs? It looks like that is what they are running this weekend.

Thanks for any input.

Steve, it's fairly low at that level, and kindof sticky depending on where you are. However, Tigers' Jaw is good when the level is coming up. At 2500 it might be a great level for TJ, when we are out there playing it's hard to know exactly what the flow is. At full flow of 3600ish however, it washes out.
Either way, beats being dry! :kayak:

Has it been confirmed that it's only running 2500?

According to Entergy's email - the release at Remmel was supposed to be 12pm - 3pm all three days this weekend. Looks like someone in hydro operations screwed the pooch on Saturday and today.

The float trip was very good today. The release time was at 1330hrs, when the horn sounded, 1400hrs on Saturday :eh: , I'm not sure why they varied from the noon release-time published in the current schedule, However I think the amount today was eventually, indeed, 3600cfs. from the bank-side indicators. It's been a great Labor Day weekend here none-the-less. I visited with Marlo this evening out East and it sounds like they had a group of rain today, and much more on the way tonight.

Best Regards
Jim

Looks like our operators changed the schedule on Saturday and Monday. On Saturday they only did about an hour at full flow. Would have happened again but I got a call from someone below the dam at 1:30 PM and so I called the plant and got them to start up. My apologies for these snafu's. It is not what was planned. Certainly feel free to give me a call if the water does not come on per the schedule. Especially for Rendezvous! Although I will be in West Virginia kayaking during Rendezvous. If I have cell service and am not on the river yet, I can still fix it. I will provide an althernate contact while I am gone.

I'll see if I can make up for last Saturday by doing a good release this Saturday.

Ted
