ARE YOU READY FOR SOME PADDLIN'?
Join an informal group of paddlers from the ACC and Ozark Society Bayou Chapter paddling Sunday October 16 - Thursday October 20 and spend beautiful fall days paddling the Current, Jacks Fork, Eleven Point. We'll base camp near Eminence, Missouri at Circle B campground and make day trips to area rivers. Maybe one ultralight overnight as an option. It's a leaderless group of common adventurers, laid back, chillin', and just enjoying paddling your boat and enjoying the scenery. Arriving Saturday afternoon the 15th, on the river the 16th.
And, the water is spring fed and has been a little above normal all summer, SO WE WILL HAVE WATER!!!

We can show you all about relaxin', Phil! Count me in, Louis!
I had so much fun last year I can hardly wait. I had breakfast at Ruby's a few times recently & reminisced about it. I'll watch the board for updates. I may go a day early.
Phil, let me know if I can help in any way. You'll have a GOOD time!
No

I want to go but probably can't get off for the whole time, would have to come up on weekend, maybe a Friday if I am already off and it is my 4 day weekend. I will check ahead and see and just plan to stay in hotel if I go. Minna will you be camping?

Karla:
It'd be nice to have you join us. Just beware, if you don't bring Gary you must bring two of his GOOD jokes for each day you paddle with us!

Louis,
I tried the approach that I'd be scouting new rivers for us with the wife and daughter. The clouds covered the sun, the air got cold, ambient noises died out and I heard and felt the words... YOU WOULD GO WITHOUT US?
To which I replied but I'd be learning new... I got cut off with YOU WOULD ACTUALLY GO WITHOUT US?
Frost formed on the inside of the windows, the heater kicked on, the cats hissed and ran for cover and I replied "uh I uh I guess I uh..." their eyes started turning red...
So I won't be making this trip.
My pshyche probably won't be recoverd in time to make the trip anyway.

Hi Karla:
Last year everybody liked the Current the best because it moves the entire trip and had a remote feel about it. Minna could give you her personal opinion. When water allows the upper sections of the Jacks Fork would be prime!!! I thought the Eleven Point had more eddies and required a little more boat control, which to me = FUN
We'll drive up Saturday and begin paddling Sunday. Maybe you can get in a couple of days on the water.

10 kayakers from Holiday Island, AR drove up to Circle B last Sunday. 4 hour drive enabled us to kayak the Jacks Fork from Alley Spring put-in and take-out right at Circle B that afternoon. Circle B also has clean cabins that fill up fast on weekends. We floated the Current on Monday. It is faster and more exciting to paddle than Jacks Fork. Both rivers are spring fed so water levels were optimum. Encountered thunderstorms on Tuesday so didn't float the Eleven Point or North Fork of White River. Hwy 60 is great traveling. Have fun!
