Carla Jo Davenport (Madar) I hope name is correct. All I know at this time is she is from Carlisle, AR my hometown. She owned the Daylight doughnuts in Lonoke. She got her foot hung after a canoe flipped. She is in her early 40's.
I did not know her but remember her brother( about 3 yrs older than me) from highschool, he was an excellent athlete and person. Her dad is a local farmer and well respected person. My wife also said she heard that they had adopted a child from China just last year.
Please pray for this family!

HARDY, AR (AP) - Authorities have recovered the body of a Lonoke woman who drowned when she became wedged between rocks on some falls in Hardy.
Police Chief Ernie Rose and Sharp County Sheriff Mark Counts told the Batesville Daily Guard that 42-year-old Carla Jo Davenport died Monday during a rafting out on the Spring River with her husband and 7-year-old son.
The officers say the raft got hung up on the rocks and Davenport's husband, Tommy, got out and tried to free it. Counts says when Carla Davenport got out to help him, she lost her footing and fell into water.
She was pulled head-first between the rocks as hundreds of pounds of water poured over her.
Rose says Tommy Davenport and two others tried to pull his wife out, but were unsuccessful.
