Last night in a big city west of you

Post by Big Daddy D » Fri Jun 24, 2011 1:26 pm

So, two weeks ago we went out to the wave and got kicked off by one of the foremen. But with the rain this week, we decided to give it another go after work last night. Guys were working on the trail and bridge, but nobody said anything, so we hopped on and had a great session.

Water level wasn't perfect (I prefer between 2200 and 3000 cfs), but it was still pretty darn good at 1400. Second wave was steep and fast.

That wave is better than any feature I saw in the WW park back in 2007 when I came through Dallas-FtW traveling between Lubbock and Ft Smith. It maybe worth the drive over from Amarillo.

WHat is the depth of the runout down stream?

You are probably thinking of the WW park they built in Ft. Worth. This is not the same place. This is in Dallas just south and west of downtown.

Not sure what you mean by depth of the runout downstream. In the middle of the river below the features, I can't touch bottom with my paddle, but not sure how deep the river actually is there.

We were poaching, so don't make the drive yet. Hopefully it will officially open this fall. I'll keep you updated if I get a date. (Though that didn't mean much in April).
