WTB 2 Kayaks
WTB 2 Kayaks
I'm looking for a pair of Sit in Kayaks for Myself and my GF. Our main use will be flat water and occasionally some Class I-II river stuff. No serious whitewater or creekin'. Mainly we are just looking for a fun way to exercise and maybe the occasional float on LMF, Caddo or the buff.
I'll admit, i'm looking for some cheap boats, preferably something under $150 per boat. I really just don't know how long she will stick with it so I don't want to invest too much right now. We can always upgrade later if this goes well.
We are in Texarkana so something close would be great, but I will make a drive to save a buck!
If no-one has anything on here, what are your guys' opinion on the Pelican Pursuit 10' ($179 @ academy) or the 80 DLX 8' ($149 @ academy)? Are they just cheap junk boats?

I am not familiar at all with set on tops and rec boats in general.
But my experience is that most any white water kayak will depreciate down to around 200 bucks and rarely go much lower.
Don't know if this rule of thumb applies to set on tops or rec boats.

I have 4 kayaks and was thinking about trimming down to two. I'm sure we could work out a decent price for 2 of them. Where are you located? You could come check them out or I may be able to text you some pics this weekend. All 4 are in very good condition and well cared for. One is a sit on top and 3 are sit in. Just call or txt me 501-nine zero eight-5889. I also have paddles, pfd's and skirts for all boats.

RE: Pelican Pursuit 100
That was my first boat. I got it at WalMart in Berryville. I had sooooo much fun in it. I went down Kings River many times, and a few other places that first summer. I only swam one time, and I still laugh every time I think of it.
Now I'm a Liquid Logic nut, but I still have that little Pelican in my carport.
I know those boats of Joes are a lot of fun, too. He and Destiny have sure enjoyed them.
Good luck with getting your GF hooked on kayaks.

I have a Pelican pursuit 100 that I would sell for $150.00. I bought it new 2 years ago at the academy.
I've enjoyed it very much been a very stable boat. I'm now looking to buy a whitewater boat. I borrowed one and now I'm hooked. My number is 479-883-5314 call or text if your interested.
