Most of the streams have fallen too low for floating tomorrow, except Remmel, which is a tad high, next weekend it should be back to 3600cfs releases or so. :) I am thinking of floating the Saline here in the Benton area, which is also fairly low. Maybe put in at Riverside and float to the I-30 access, about 5 miles. Any intersterd parties welcome, I may fish some, and get wet...

Down to slim pickens. Too bad Remmel is flowing too high. Gary and I will discuss. Just can't decide if we go do I take whitewater kayak and work on my roll or rec boat and do some fishing.

I might be able to talk the wife into her inaugural float.....what would be your times and could we hitch a shuttle back to Riverside?

I'm planning to be at The Riverside G&F Access at 9:30 in the morning to meet. If there are other instersted floaters, we'll have our shuttle. I'd take my truck down to the I-30 access, then back by about 10am to put-in. I plan to float/fish/ have lunch, swim, etc., etc. and be to the take-out by 2pm at the latest, then back to Riverside. I'd be glad to shuttle back any other floaters who may come along. The Saline in this section is pretty clear and very low, but should certainly still beat mowing the yard.
I'll check the board again in the morning.

Best Regards
Jim

With Remmel running high I was wondering how bad it is? I know Rockport will be washed out but will the high water be unmanageable on the run down from the dam? Is unmanageable a word?

The wife and I will not be able to make it.
Thanks again for all the info concerning access points and camping.
It will be put to good use in the future, as I plan to make the Saline my river of choice for introducing the wife and kids to floating and riverside camping this summer.
I feel I should appologize for imposing myself on your trip. I get a little excited when it comes to floating, and it didn't occur to me untill after I posted that I had just asked to get a ride from someone who is basically a total stranger! Silly me.....I just don't get out enough, I guess...

Nevermind my question....Entergy closes access to the river at the dam when water is too high.

Komoroski,

No appology needed, most any post you see on the board for float trips are in effect, an invitation to old friends, and friends we've yet to meet :)
The Central Chapter, as well as the other chapters hold monthly meetings and is a great way to meet folks and discuss floating.

Best Regards
