So I was actually headed up to Hailstone Cr. to do a search & rescue for the grandson that was missing. Maybe, its not the most sensitive thing to use as an excuse to get out of a speeding ticket cuz of my paddling habit but, oh well. Anyways, will it work?

Depends on how the judges breakfast is that morning... Or something.

Since SAR people in the state of Arkansas don't get lights/sirens anyway, you aren't going to necessarily get a pass on that, then again, I've seen people with lights and sirens getting themselves in more trouble if they used them inappropriately.

I think that's the real answer.

Edit: I've withdrawn furher speculation, since I have no real basis other than second-hand stories I've heard.

WARNING!!! VERY BAD ADVICE COMING UP!!!

Jack when the judge makes you pay the ticket, (your guilty, no if ands or buts) call him a communist and then tell him that the american judical system is a joke.

Tell me how this works out.

with the judge? No. Don't wait for court. You need to call the traffic court prosecutor for the jurisdiction that issued the ticket and tell your story sympathetically and they may or may not agree to nolle pross (dismiss).

Judges are very careful not to engage in nullification or create dangerous precedent. Resolving charges early is an exercise in relationship. Was it Wash Co? Newton Co? A town? What legal entity?

Are you an actual member of a SAR organization? If so, that might help add a little validity.
