Re: Dallas Water Park
The media just wants to make it look bad because if it bleeds it leads.
I have seen positive articles on the wave as well. We as kayakers need to keep the wave as positive in the public eye as we can because it could only mean good things as far as future play parks.
I have plenty of friends down in Dallas that are grateful to have a play wave that runs year-round.

Re: Dallas Water Park
Looks like the tale of a single, pissed off, agenda-toting outfitter to me.

Re: Dallas Water Park
And honestly probably the only outfitter in DFW...
The WW paddling community is very small in Dallas, most of us knew one another and it was like a small paddling family. The average jo paddler there doesn't know much about ww and aren't interested in it (including this outfitter).
There also has been tesnsion between the few of us WW paddlers and the dallas down river club (flat water canoeist) over this wave. Basically they have just been downing the wave and talking a bunch of crap saying just how against it they are long before it was even built.
The few of us WW paddlers never suggested they build a wave, it was just told to us one day that we were going to have one, and all of us have tried our best to keep it a positive thing.
