Wister Wave on the rise

Post by jason g » Thu May 05, 2011 4:54 pm

I've been watching the corps. gradually bumping the cfs up all day.Currently it is at 5300 cfs and hopefully the will make one more bump up before they go home today. If not then hopefully it will happen tomorrow and into the weekend. Jason

They released Wister between 1000-2700 all day yesterday and the lake still rose. This has to happen.

I bet they raise it again tomorrow! What was that awesome level we had on a Saturday back in November, 2009? Was it around 6500 cfs? I am getting antsy about what to do this weekend. Wister Saturday, camping at Tot Saturday night, Bobby's memorial at Tot on Sunday and then Dierks? I hate to bail on the first timer's trip, but it's been well over a year that Wister has been at this level  What to do...what to do.......

Renee,

I'm sure Wister wave cannot compare to watching a bunch of new boaters try to make their way down through Zigzag and the Esses. I only wish I could stand back and watch instead of being part of the chaos.

Seriously, have fun if you go to Wister.

Well the Corp.opened up to 6372 cfs now but I don't have a visual that the wave is forming perfectly.Maybe Ricky or Michelle will get a visual today. If not I will be there Saturday after mother's day chores for my mom at around noon or later.Might even camp at Wister.yeah! Jason

Gate change at 10:30am to 7469cfs. (current readings at top only update every couple of hours)

If someone gets a visual, post up. I wonder if it flushes out that high :( . or gets better

Flushed out. :( :x

Pics from the field show no wave to surf. 7400cfs is too much

To confirm what Scott posted, yes Wister Wave is flushed right now.Michelle was sweet enough to go get a visual for us and took a pic for me and yes it's not good right now.I'll be watching the gauge all weekend to jump on it if it gets good. Jason
