I loosely counted 41 in attendance. About 30 or so were paddlers, the rest family. I think the family was touched to know Bobby has not been forgotten.
Afterwards, many went over to Dierks to surf and play. After a few hours of playing in the first and second hole, a funny thing happened. Someone made a move to the third hole, and everyone shortly followed. A big-hole riding session broke out, and fun was had by many boater and spectators.
I remember that I saw Bobby almost every time I went to Dierks, and many times he would still be playing in the third hole after I, and most everyone else was whooped and done for the day. I think Dierks was one of Bobby’s favorite places, So I hope he enjoyed the show.
