Richland Saturday 4/16
Some folks staying in the area; some returning in morning. I know at least one group is meeting at the Put In at 10:30.

Re: Richland Saturday 4/16
Super great day as I cleaned my drysuit twice, enjoyed sunny drying of it, watched some really good moves and some not-so good moves! Think there were about 20 or so lucky duckys including five getting a PFD!
Also a shout out to Amos for the assistance at Roadblock.
Some pics tomorrow.

Great day. Nice to paddle with some people I've known off the water for a while now.
Thanks!

Also, I have a red jacket that the young man with Gordon K left in my car. Somebody get me a snail mail address and I will get it to him.

Re: Richland Saturday 4/16
Whoever said "photographs don't lie" had it wrong!
I was not just standing in the water at LSU; there WAS a boat under me, and I don't ALWAYS have my eyes closed!
And in photo #17, I was NOT just doing a goober one-hand-on-paddle-wave-arms-in-the-air thing. There's more to the story!
That was probably Jordan's PFD, I'll get it from you today and return it to LR.
Another great day on the creek; good times with good people in good weather. Thanks Roger for the photos, Thanks to Renee for working through shuttle logistics (I tease her but the truth is I really hate doing that myself and am glad she does it), Thanks to Cole for staying up there and driving shuttles until after midnight after tweaking his own shoulder and not being able to take additional laps with us, Thanks to Pam for shuttle on Friday, thanks to Jake for joining me on extra runs when everyone else was heading home or to camp for the day. And thanks to Spanke for fishing yaks out of Cindy's hole; in addition to the entertainment factor, that stuff lets me know who will be creative and figure out how to help if it is me circulating around in there instead of just a couple of boats. The list of folks I "owe" has grown exponentially this weekend!
(and the weekend isn't even over yet... more to come!)

Yeah, Cowper was emulating Cole who did a paddle toss dropping off the Falls. I think Cowper is catching his in the shot.

Re: Richland Saturday 4/16
Cowper - we would have done another lap with ya if we had gotten off earlier. Scott had to remind me that Billy had an additional 1 1/2 hour drive past our house. We didn't get to LR till 9pm and he was already pretty tired. It was a fun today - I was wondering who was going to go in after the boats in Cindy's! Glad Spanke got them out or we would have waited a LOT longer! I thought Cole did the moonlight run with you? Glad you found another boater to paddle the second lap! Let's do this again next weekend

Re: Richland Saturday 4/16
Cole's shoulder got slightly tweaked at Cindy's, so he decided to sit out the second run. During the shuttle, it got mentioned that we had "considered" a moonlight run, but that it wasn't coming together. Jake said he'd like to do one some day, and then Cole (who was feeling pretty good due to some pain killers he had been given) volunteered to drive another shuttle. I couldn't believe it - I felt like I had been talking tall, Jake wanted to go, Cole was volunteering to drive shuttle - - - - I had no choice in the matter, I "had" to go!
Got off the river shortly after midnight. A few boo-boos, like getting both of us having minor trouble with the approach at Crack-in-the-Rock, and later getting beached once or twice when off-line, but nothing major scary to tell about, just a good way to finish up a second day on Richland. Got home just after 3 AM; didn't feel like a 3 hour drive to the Tot was in the cards, so drove back up to Snow Creek with Cole and Wayne, met Roger, and got in a couple of fun laps there before going to find some Mexican food in Conway.
I live for weekends like this one.
