I would really like to do this run but I've never done it. How late is too late?

Steve,
This afternoon after work Tommy and I are going to get a run in somewhere. We are thinking about doing Frog from Grotto to Lancaster. If you feel like waiting a bit you are more than welcome to join us. We will get off around 4. Depending on the level. We might be talked into a Clear Creek run if it is still there.

I've been told USGS gauge references for the Chester to Moutainburg Clear Creek run that existed in the past don't apply since the new Lake Fort Smith dam. Does anyone know how to correlate the current gauge readings to the visuals on either the put in or take out? Thanks.

In Alma I realized my drysuit forgot to get in the truck,so i went back to get him! Then a littlle miscommunication about setting the shuttle delayed our start to 11:30. Tom said the level dropped 6" (you know guys and estimating inches---probably dropped 2") while he was there waiting on my drysuit to arrive. 4 yaks & 1 open boater (without a cooler, who's training this boy?) on a perfectly dreary day. Mike's kayak was a little dirty so he washed out the inside of it......! This creek is a GEM! The rapid where the Frog joins was green on the left(from the Dam) and brown on the right(from Clear creek). No one can ever run this creek without calling me. The level was good but somewhat boney on some shoals. So, Mike-P, i feel the gauge and suggested levels are right on for good whitewater. Clint did it Monday at 4.5' and JR and Tommy were going this evening @ just under 5' so they can chime in. I think the Frog levels have been adjusted for changes due to the Dam but this really shouldn't affect the Clear levels.
