Buffalo Rewind With Wes In Mind

Post by Paddlegal » Thu Apr 14, 2011 2:52 pm

On April 28th to the 30th Wes :poke: (Sharky) will be celebrating his 33rd birthday anniversary on the Buffalo River. No gaps folks, the guy has been up there every year for the past 33 on this birthday :!:

Do you think he loves the Buffalo :?:

Wes is a fine fellow who has raised a fine cowboy named Lance 8) (and I do mean rodeo, if Lance sees  white water, whether it be a reed or a rock, he heads right for it and has ever since the age of 3 or so...) and is devoted to his lovely wife  Laurie.

I would like to call a convocation of the Buffalo floaters to meet me up thar somewhar on the 29th or 30th to help Wes celebrate this momentus occasion.

Due to the fact that I am a woose (and the fact that Wes has a lovely RV) it will not be gravel bar camping.

Let us stay open to locations/floats/shuttles suggestions.

I planned this one year and a bunch showed up, but I was so darned busy I couldn't sit down long enough to eat.
:rain: (besides the fact that a straight line thunderstorm came in and tore up my tent and all my clothes got wet) :rain:

So this year lets keep it all loosey goosey, do your own meals, etc. But lets try to camp in the same campground so we call tell lies around the campfire :chicken: (we don't have a goose smilie so I had to use a chicken.)

Wes? Where would you like to camp?

Okay, everybody chime in cause if we want to do a group site we gotta do it soon!!

Wes,

I plan on being at the Buffalo to celebrate with you. I'll bring my boat but may not paddle. Bringing my two rats (chihuahuas) with me and they hate the water.

However, I'm testing out a new tent (kodiak flex bow) so will not mind if the ground is wet.

I do not plan a big ole cookout, just lazing around. A little bit of walking maybe, I am sooooo out of shape!

Where are you camping? Pls to reply good buddy, need to reserve space near youse.

We haven't gotten too much interest in this post and suspect its because of the Cadron cleanup and other commitments. No worries m8. I plan on being there.

syotr!!

Yeah, I gotta do the Pick Up & Paddle on Saturday. But I may be able to come up and join y'all Thursday or Friday if the water goes down. Sounds like fun. Have you decided where to camp yet, or where you'll float?

As of right now I think it will just be a cookout Thursday at noon at Woolum. I probably need to be in Garland county Friday. I'll bring a grill and steaks, just let me know how many.

KK Wes, maybe next year? Right now (Tues. 4/26 a.m.) we're dealing with real saturated ground and a few inches more on the way today/tonight. I probably won't camp in this, just too wet. Besides the fact that I missed being hit by a tornado by 1/2 block! last night. Have no electricity and do not know how long it will be before I get it back. Major trees down all over my neighborhood that will take a lot of time of clean up.
