Is there a set weekend for the newbie paddle on the Ocoee? Thanks!

Not sure of a set weekend but there are Arkies out there most every weekend starting Memorial day.
My son and I are going easter/memoriual day weekends, 6/11, 6/18, and 9/10 for sure and probably a few others. Suggest you just post when you want to go and see who is going to be out there. I am sure that there are many who would not mind a newbie tagging along (or showing us up:)
Any of us can tell you camping and lodging options.
What else have you paddled in preparation?

Lorraine - you don't need a newbie float. I've seen you paddle and you are perfectly fine to run the Ocoee. You are welcome to come paddle with me on any of the many trips I plan to make out there. Let me know when you can go and we will plan a weekend!

I have been on the Ocoee several times (what a blast) but my friend Susan hasn't, and I told her about the newbie trip ya'll tend to do--with sheparding people down the river. She thought it sounded like a good deal, and I would love to go too. Renee- you are so sweet, I would love to paddle with you anytime. Have a good time in two weeks when you go to the Ocoee.
I graduate with my BA on May 13th (yay!) and am all tied up until then.
