ACC River Valley cookout and meeting, Tuesday April 12th

Post by Michele Jackson » Sun Apr 10, 2011 11:43 am

The Arkansas Canoe Club-River Valley Chapter’s April meeting will take place on Tuesday, April the 12th, 6:00pm at Fort Smith Park located at 5301 Clayton Expressway, Fort Smith, AR. We will be cooking up cheeseburgers, and all the fixin's and sides will be provided. However, please to bring your own beverage.

It’s always great to see folks from other chapters in attendance. To continue promoting Swift Water Rescue skills, there will be a throw bag competition during the meeting. The winner of the contest will be awarded with one of Tim Jones’ handmade, custom throw bags (http://whitewatersolutions.net/CustomThrowBags.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). In addition, representatives from The Woodsman Co. will be present with some demo boats and some new outdoor products to show off. Some members are paddling down the Arkansas River prior to the meeting. Fort Smith Park is a river front park with a boat ramp so it will make for a convenient take-out for those paddling down the Arkansas prior to the meeting. Contact Arkansas River Trip Leader, Leo Peacock at (479) 782-2339, for complete trip details and let him know if you’re paddling along.

I've got to get back to work for a meeting at 7:00 so won't be able to attend the entire meeting. But, Cindy and I can run shuttle for the folks floating downstream if needed.

Also, we have some left over pancake batter and other goodies that we will bring to the meeting tonight to donate to the cause!
