Yeah, that happened just prior to our trip in the Big Ditch. The ranger giving us our pre-trip talk said that they were asking for the maximum penalty.

We have some stupid people in our society.

I think this is why I'm getting more and more sympathetic towards law enforcement folks as I grow older. I've had my share of misguided "feedback" over the years, for offenses ranging from wading without a lifejacket, to improper display of a day use sticker (purchased it, but failed to display at the correct location on the boat), to just having long hair and being out late at night in a small town.

But these men and women have to deal with stuff like this, and their job has them dealing with that and other crap on a daily basis, while you and I have the luxury of mostly dealing with "the good guys". Who can blame them if some days their attitude falls below "A+" and they assume the worst about one of us, at least until proven otherwise? (Not me, at least not anymore...)

I can blame/not trust them. And do, and will continue to do so. As long as they keep shooting kids with sticks and locking people in broom closets, I will blame/not trust them. Tree pig or real pig.
And it's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, so if they assume the worst, then that's backwards to.
