How long is that float? If I remember correctly it is pretty short from there to 65.

Steve, et al,

The trip from the Pinnacle Springs Bridge down to the Hwy 65 take-out is about 4 miles. Several of us are planning a trip on the Cadron tomorrow, and my personal preference will be the 10 mile float from Hwy 65 down to Hwy 285. The river is at a decent level for this section, it has some of the prettiest bluff scenery, and the accesses are paved and easy. At this time, we are planning to meet under the hwy 65 bridge, at the G&F access, about 10:30 am. Others welcome, as well as additional shuttle assistance. :)
In the general area, there is another group of folks floating the Big Piney in the morning. meeting at Moore's Outfitters at 9:00am. They will be floating the 'Helton's Farm' to Longpool access which is also at just a great level.
All welcome on either trip. It should be just a great day!

Jim,
Does that section have enough current to make it doable in a playboat?

Maggie,

There are some long pools on this section and overall, it is every bit of ten miles. Tomorrow the river should be in the lower 3 foot range or so. I paddle a 10' creek boat, and on the last trip two years ago at 2.50 feet or so, I decided I'd sure like a little more water to carry us along better. That's about the best assessment I can offer. :)

Best Regards
Jim

Putting in at Pinnacle bridge sometime between 11ish and noon (somewhere in there) with an old friend. Been awhile since I paddled a SinK so oughta be a hoot. We wouldn't object to some easy going company if someone wanted to join us. I warn ya he's an old slalom paddler from back in the day and has lots of stories! Maiden voyage in my new (to me) 4Fun (thanks Steve).

I'll be up by 7ish and coming from Marshall. Eventually. :D

Hey Zwan, my bunch has added friend Joe and his wifey on my torrents. Might even get the girlfriend woke up enough to join us. Joe is meeting us under 65 bridge at around 12:45, prolly won't get put on till 1:30 if I know us. Gonna spend a little time at lunchspot kickin the tires on the new boat so I'm sure you could catch up to us if you want. Haven't paddled with you in quite awhile so we would love to have you along! Up to you buddy but you're more than welcome..

Four of us floated from Pinnicle Springs to Hwy 65 Saturday and the water was great.

The only down side was it was too short . . . I miss the Weidower access, that was the perfect day float on the Cadron in my opinion.
