Now this looks like fun!
Boatercross
There will be strict disqualification for ANY intentional harm to another paddler or “skirting” the gates. No slashing with paddles, punching, grabbing or pulling on another PERSON, their helmet or PFD. Boat loops may NOT be taped down. Competitors should keep their hands on their paddles as much as possible. Paddlers can reach across the deck of a competitor in order to plant a stroke in the water. No pulling on grab loops, skirt loops, cockpit rims, etc.

Yeah, well, Ryan, I played in a no check ice hockey league for 12 years that had similar legalize. Suffice to say that we checked, but not in the sight of the refs....you know, man!

Thanks for posting this, Bilbo. Sorry I can't take your class again this year at the MWA clinic...our ACC weekend clinic is the same weekend for the first time in several years :-(. I may try to make it over there for Champsionship/Boatercross weekend to check it out. Is the river "open" to the public (for boating) during that weekend or is access limited to those who are signed up to compete?

The river is always open to non race traffic, just that you may have to wait for racers at Millstream. Will be glad to see you!
