Mikki, and Connie (in England) I was concerned about you both during Thursday evening's storm passage. Is all well?
Best Regards
Jim M.

Thank you to Debo and Jim for the warning. I was not at home when the storm hit. Just got back from a trip to Reelfoot lake and New Madrid, MO. I was planning to add a couple of extra days and do the Big Springs and Jacks Fork and Current river area but when I got up this morning the camp ground host at Wappapella said they expected tornadoes and damaging hail across AR and southern MO today and tonight so headed home. What a shame, this means I WILL have to go back sometime in April to tour these areas. Would love some company for a paddle or some hiking.
Everything was still in place at Roe except for some good sized limbs that got broken off the big oak tree by the shop. Will take the chain saw to them tomorrow. Hope you all had a good time on the paddle yesterday. I am so sorry to have missed your company and spending time on the water together. Looking forward to the spring schedule.
Debo, you would have been so sad to see what the ice damage did to the old growth trees at Big Oak SP. This is the first time when I have ever stood next to so many trees that 2 or 3 people with outspread arms could not reach around. Many are still standing but have lost a number of limbs. Hope the coming years will be kinder and they can heal and recover. I thought of you often and understand a little better your love for these increasingly rare old growths of timber.
Again, thanks for the heads up on the storm warnings. I do not have a TV so I depend on friends and neighbors to give me eminent storm alerts.
Did the camp site at Wattensaw escape Thursdays tornado? Am anxious to get started on the overnight camp site soon. Let me know what you need in the way of supplies, equipment and help.

I'm good Jim. Waited it out at the local Kroger which has a nice walk in cooler I planned to head for. We did not even get damaging straight line winds but it did rain very very hard for a few minutes. When I arrived at the store, the parking lot was emptying very quickly. I'm safer anywhere else than my old mobile home so I didn't try to scurry home.
