I met with the Dallas City Park and Rec Dept. and the Trinity Trust this morning regarding the grand opening and other developments.
The scheduled date is May 7. We want to invite ACC members and all paddlers from surrounding states to come paddle in Dallas that weekend. You can read more details here:

As more details are solidified, I'll keep you posted.
Also note a few other announcements regarding The Dallas Waves here:

Nice Job on a great project.
If it doesn't rain here soon you may get
a "flood" of paddlers headed south.
Again great job.......

BDD, I'll be in Ft. Worth for a conference in a few weeks. I was thinking about bring my new OC-1 playboat down. What is the access like before the "grand opening"? Will I get arrested or ticketed if I try to go play?
BTW, Sunday Morning the 5th of March, or Thursday afternoon, the 10th, are the best times for me to get away from the conference.
Thanks,
Paul

The official response to that is: The Standing Wave project is still under construction and is not yet open to the public.Shep wrote:BDD, I'll be in Ft. Worth for a conference in a few weeks. I'll pm you with the unofficial, "not for public message boards" response.

BDD, got your PM. I'll definitely go through local channels. :) Unfortunately, I have to get back to AR as soon as possible, either for school or to teach a WFA class, so I can't help with the litter clean-up on Saturday.
Thanks!

p.s. I got a couple of decent bow stalls in the CUFly last night, so I'm really stoked to get on the wave and see what she'll really do!

Thanks!
